Can I buy an RV from you if I live out of state?

Yes! A large portion of our customers come from out of state because of our competitive "Internet Pricing." We can handle the transaction remotely and arrange delivery.

Do you really offer free walk-throughs?

Can I sleep in my new RV on your lot before I leave?

We are not able to offer a stay on our lot but we have many nearby partner campgrounds to test everything out while you are still close to our service center.

Should I buy New or Used for my first RV?

New offers different limited warranty protection and no "wear and tear." Used campers at Recreation USA are also fully inspected and the ones that pass inspection 100% are cleaned and you can rest assured you are getting a remarkable pre-loved unit at an amazing price.

What is a "Destination Trailer" vs. a Travel Trailer?

A Destination Trailer is designed to be parked in one spot for months (like a vacation cottage) and has residential appliances/sliding doors. A Travel Trailer is built to be towed frequently down the highway.

Do I need a special driver’s license to drive an RV?

In South Carolina and most states, no. A standard driver’s license covers most RVs. Special licenses are usually only required for massive motorhomes over 26,000 lbs.

What is "Boondocking"?

Can I get financing with bad credit?

What are typical RV loan terms?

How much should I budget for maintenance?

A safe rule of thumb is to budget $500–$1,000 annually for routine maintenance (seals, bearings, winterizing) to keep your rig in top shape.

Are there tax advantages to trading in?

I still owe money on my trade. Can I still trade it?

Yes. We will pay off your existing loan. If you owe more than it’s worth (negative equity), the difference can often be rolled into your new financing.

Why is the dealer trade-in offer lower than retail price?

Dealers must recondition, inspect, market, and warranty the unit for the next buyer. The "gap" covers these costs and business risk.

My family grew. What is the best upgrade for kids?

I want to travel more. Should I upgrade to a motorhome?

If you plan to move every 2-3 days, a Motorhome (Class A or C) is convenient. If you plan to park for weeks at a time, a Towable is often more spacious and cost-effective.

Do you buy RVs outright if I don't want to trade?

What is the "Toy Hauler" advantage?

Even if you don't have ATVs, Toy Haulers offer a flexible "garage" space that can be a patio, office, kennel for large dogs, or handicap-accessible bedroom.

Can I trade a car or boat for an RV?

When is it time to upgrade?

What is "Towing Capacity" vs. "Payload"?

Towing Capacity is what your truck can pull. Payload is what your truck can carry (people + cargo + the trailer tongue weight). You typically run out of Payload before Towing Capacity.

Can I tow a travel trailer with an SUV?

Yes, many modern SUVs can tow 3,500–5,000 lbs. We have many lightweight "ultra-lite" trailers specifically for this market. Check out our lightest units.

What is a Weight Distribution Hitch?

It transfers the heavy tongue weight of the trailer to the front axles of your truck, keeping the ride level and safe. We highly recommend this for any trailer over 3,000 lbs.

What is Sway Control?

Sway control uses friction to stop the trailer from wiggling in high winds or when passed by semis. It is a critical safety feature. We sell the 2-in-1 weight distribution and anti-sway hitches.

Do I need a Brake Controller?

If your trailer has electric brakes (most do), YES. It allows you to activate the trailer brakes from the driver's seat.

Can I tow a Fifth Wheel with a "Short Bed" truck?

Yes, but you may need a "Slider Hitch" or a specialized pin box (like a Sidewinder) to prevent the camper from hitting the truck cab during tight turns. We have options for this as an add-on to your deal.

What happens if I exceed my tow rating?

It is dangerous and illegal. It strains your transmission, overheats your engine, and can cause brake failure. We will strictly advise you on what is safe to tow.

How do I know the REAL weight of the RV?

Look for the yellow sticker on the RV door. "UVW" is the empty weight. "GVWR" is the maximum loaded weight. Always base your towing math on the GVWR to be safe.
